Grinding

No, not the dirty dancing kind, but the doing the dirty work kind.

Many modern artists, mainly rappers, use the word "grind" in their music. Just another definition of hard work. Let's face it, unless you have an unlimited income or you plan on bunking with your parents for the rest of your life, (and they let you) you would
have experienced the pressure of "being on that grind" at least once in your life.

Let me not become all sentimental and preach about hard work and dedication, but let us rather reflect on a fact. What you put out into the world, the same you will get back. If you think about it, people are like parasites. They feed on your failure, yes it may leave you feeling drained, but can you imagine the amount of success you'd feed on once you overcome all the obstacles you've faced. For example, Nelson Mandela. Please raise your hand if you do not know who that man was... Yeah, thought so. Known all around the world. Imagine a world where Nelson Mandela, the original 'G', had succumb to his failures or rather the challenges he faced daily. We would most likely not have as much benefits as we do now. All that greatness coming from a man born in the small village of Mvezo in the Eastern Cape.

What if you're the Nelson Mandela of our generation and all you have to do is grind. I mean nobody plans on being famous, they plan on being memorable. There's a saying that goes, "God didn't add another day to your life because you need it, He gave it because someone out there needs you."

We're all on this earth because we have a destiny. Live a fulfilling life. Don't be that guy laying on his death bed saying "I wish", be the guy that says, "I lived". We only have one life to live, if we do it properly, once is enough.

If you want a positive life, abandon the negative outlook.

Keep grinding and make that paper. Hustle hard!

Shady Dealings

Can we PLEASE reflect on the 50 Shades of Grey trailer?! Obviously the movie world is taking huge steps in terms of sensitive viewing, but can we give it up for Jamie Dornan. Talk about stunning! I mean women who go through a mourning process during Valentine's Day, are coming out from dark corners everywhere to go and see this movie. The director, Sam Taylor-Johnson, clearly had her work cut out for her, a woman of ambition!

The 50 Shades novels have been out for quite some time now. Many fans are extremely excited for the movie's release even though there are quite a few sceptics that aren't sure if it is all worth the hype. Let's face it we all have those books that we read at some point in our lives which were then made into big screen releases, many who did not quite meet our expectations and was considered an epic fail. Enough negativity though, I'm pretty sure it's going down this weekend, excuse the pun. :O

Now a soundtrack can either make or break a good movie. Let's face it though, wherever one can find The Weeknd, you know we're TURNING UP!!! Two words... Earned It! We all know Abel Tesfaye is the original lady slayer! Not to mention Where You Belong, another one for the King of the Fall. We obviously have Queen Bey with the Crazy In Love 2014 remix as well as Haunted which seems to be haunting me! Witchcraft, a classic by Mickey Blue Eyes himself, Mr Frank Sinatra. Then there's Salted Wound by Sia and so much more of the sickest music for 2015.

Go on, check out what's in store. I'm pretty sure the curiosity of this screenplay has reached it's peak as cinemas around the world become sold out. If you're part of the "conservative" part of society, I do not recommend you go and see this movie, but if you're the ultimate wild child, this will be the movie you cannot miss.

New Beginnings

New.

A simple word that means something different to about everyone. To me "new" means change. Change can be good or it can be bad. Positive or negative. There's that word again, "negative". It seems many of us have become so accustomed to let the negativity in our lives take over and our lives become toxic.  We become toxic to those around us and they become toxic to those around them and so we start to spiral into a dark abyss.

Well I simply think its time we change our mindset and see the greater things in life. Simple things really. Things that make us happy, like food. OH FOOD! Who doesn't love food?! Those who don't are immensely missing out. There's also things like fashion, travel, science, friendship, family and love. Yes, I said it, love!! I love me some good loving, don't you? Okay, cliché, I know, but you have to admit, the tacky flowers and chocolates does make one feel like a million dollars. (Ironically, I wear black on Valentine's Day.)

Here's to new beginnings. Not just another blog posting about another trend. More like a friend, posting about keeping it 100, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

Remember to keep #Repping Real!!
